The New F1 rule

The FIA introduced a new rule to decide the season winner by the number of wins rather than the points scored.
I do not support this new rule because: 1.It supports periodic performances over consistent performance. It puts driver with ,for eg, only 2 wins & no other podium, ahead of a driver with a win and 4 second finishes. This is not a correct evaluation. 2.As not every point counts in the new system, we may not see as thrilling season finishes as we saw it in last 2 season. Last year, the last meter of the race decided the champion. New system reduces entertainment value of a cash-needy sport. 3.Some say that new system will encourage drivers to push hard for victory. My opinion is not congruent to this notion. A driver at 5th position will not push hard as it brings the dangers of technical failures and driving errors.failures of engine and transmission may make them to lose in grid positions in the next race. I welcome FIA's decision of withdrawing the new rule of counting win, as its announcement was too close to the season's opening race.

F1 to F2 to F1

A recent initiative by FIA named F2 seems to be an experimentation to get of the troubled times.
The trouble being from ricing cost and economic slowdown.
F2 is a low cost racing set up. It is expected to cost less than the GP2 series. This will provide a base for FIA, participants and organizers to test with new things to keep the cost of the sport but maintaining a balance.
This balance is a crucial one between Cost and Entertainment. With a cut in budget, we cannot expect high speed thrills. Thus the entertainment factor will go down. So will the earnings from the races.
The things are neededto be sorted out in this year if cost is to be brought down by 2010, and Formula1 be saved

Such experimentation may surely prove useful for a transition from F2 to F1, by 2010 if things get arranged right..

Manglore Incident-My Analysis

The recent case of molestation of women in Manglore, no doubt, is heinous crime, but if we look at it in an introspective manner, we’ll find some support for Ram Sena’s agenda for household status of women in our thinking. This support may be a mute one, but it is there.
It will be clear by a single question- how many boys of my age, 20 yrs, know cooking. Hardly anybody. Even I don’t know cooking. The reason is that we always have a lady cooking food for us, in the form of mother, sister or relative. If not, then there is a servant.
Even the future seems to be safe. We are assured to have a wife to do it for us. We are not ready to think that they might not. It is nightmarish for us to imagine ourselves doing the household stuff.

This analysis raises one question –“Are we ready for consequences of the education we are getting?”

I believe we are not. Imagine a situation where a young girl gets into an IIT, then into an IIM after years of hard work. Will she have enough time to complete the household responsibilities imposed on her, when in conjugal relationship, without any help from her partner. After achieving academic record that high she can’t be expected to sit at home. Even her job would be a very demanding one.

Such a woman is exactly opposite to the common perception of a wife- sweet and homely.
This phenomenon, if widespread, may precipitate into a social crisis.

If we want to have good education and live in good economy, we first need to be spiritually mature.
We will have to throw this orthodox and close minded part of the body out.

What after Mumbai??

After Mumbai attack India India may have a lot of evidence against Pakistan but they have really few options to elicit any substantial actions from Pakistan. Pakistan in an indirect way saying "you have evidence, so what?"

No Real Options:
Attacking the selected terror camps and going into war with Pakistan will make the situation even worse. It will release Pakistan military from western part consequently freeing Taliban, which poses a great threat to India as well as rest of world, especially USA. Such condition is also not desirable in the time of global economic crisis.
Destroying the terror camps will not, in itself accomplish anything because they must have already been shifted from there. Any attack(if any) should had been done during the time when Mumbai operation was still on. A lot of time was wasted in getting the "permission" from America.
Even i f any camps are successfully destroyed, the terrorists' organizations will not take any time to regroup as there is scarcity of funds, thanks to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan Govt.

Immediate Steps
The Indian Government must ensure the internal security of country. For this the first step must be seal the highly porous borders with Nepal and Bangladesh as these are the gateway for the terrorists.
Secondly the Police must be advanced. The bulging bellies of the officers are needed to be trimmed. Our Police needs to be better equipped. Equipped enough to tackle AK47's. The Intelligence and police are needed to be better coordinated.
The refreshing of police is of course not an easy task but it has to be done sometime.
It is a more reliable solution and may cost as much as a war.
The citizens at their level are needed to be more alert and aware. Steps like servant and tenant verification are must.

Any war wont be fruitful in the long term. We have the examples of Israel, which even after decades of fighting with Hamas is nowhere near peace.

It may be difficult to discipline the general public, but after all it is our security which is at stake.

GROUND FOR PRAYER

This is a very humorous newspaper article
"
In the days when you couldn't ount on a public toilet facility, an english woman was planning a trip to india.she was registered to in guesthouse owned by a local schoolmaster.she was concerned whether the guesthouse had a WC or not. In England WC is used for bathroom, meaning Water Closet. She wrote to the schoolmaster inquiring of the facilities about the WC. The schoolmaster asked the local priest if he knew what WC meant. They together pondered possible meaning of WC and concluded that the lady wanted to know about the "Wayside Chapel"....A bathroom never entered their mind.

The schoolmaster replied:

"I take pleasure in informing you that a WC is located nine miles from our house. It is located in the middle of a grove of pine trees, surrounded by lovely grounds. It is capable of holding 229 people and is open on Sundays and Thursdays. As there many people expected in the summer months, i suggest you arrive early. There is, however plenty of standing room. This is an unfirtunate situation espacially if you are in the habit of going regulrly. it may be of some interest to you that my daughter was married in the WC.as it was there that she met her husband. It was a wonderful event. There were atleat 10 people in every seat. It was wonderful to see the expressions on their faces. We can photos from different angles. My wife, sadly, has been ill and unable to go recently. It has been almost a year since she went last. this painsher greatly.

You will be pleased to know that many people bring their lunch and make a day of it...I would suggest your ladyship to go on a Thursday as there is an organ accompaniment. The acoustics are excellent and even the most delicate of the sounds can be heard everywhere...And we are holding a bazaar to provide plush seats for all since many feel it is long needed. i look forward to escort you there myself and seating you in a place where you can be seen by all."

The woman fainted reading this reply- and she never visited India!!!!

Periodic performance

it happens many times with me that i performance in a field is very good for a certain time but after that i just get flop. i observed that in my game of Carrom. when i started playing, i was ofcourse not the best player. with time my game refined and once i was undefeatable. i could play the toughest of the shots, finest cuts with ease. i defeated our hostel champion in just 3 chances.
but then came my rough time. i just couldn't play it. i found it very difficult to pocket the easiest coins. i am still to recover from this hitch.
i do not understand this phenomenon which is very common. for eg. right now i think yuvraj singh also have this problem why cant we repeat the good performances in the same condition.
Is it because our brain gets tired or our mind refuses to do same thing again and again???
How should we get out of this bad time???
i do not understand this

The Copy Never Works

THE 2007 Formula1 season has shown that a copied thing cannot be successful. Stripping McLaren off its constructors points and their performance after that should be a good lesson for those who believe 'Copying the best is the best'.

McLaren which had given stiff competition to the Ferraris, not only the competition, but outdrove them with a few 1-2 finshes in the beginning could not drive its drivers to the championship title but lost to a driver(Kimi Raikennen) who was trailing by more than 10 points with just 4 races to go.

This drastic deterioration of the performance immediately after the The Spy Scam surfaced in which McLaren was accused of stealing and using Ferrari's technical information. Now to save their skin they had to change the car in a hurry, which of course could not match the ferraris.

So my mantra of "Be original" has been strengthened
